History
The Reusable Packaging Association (RPA) began in 1999 in Washington DC, as the Reusable Pallet and Container Coalition (RPCC). It began as a collaboration between manufacturers and poolers of reusable pallets and containers who were committed to advocating the benefits of reusables packaging.
During nearly a decade of existence, the association has grown significantly to include collaboration among all supply chain partners, including distributors and retailers, as well as educators and policymakers with a commitment to the value and message of re-use. The association has commissioned research projects, conducted studies, published guidelines and hosted industry events to educate the marketplace about the benefits of reusable packaging. For a list of the RPA’s past and current projects, visit Projects & Events.
Today, the RPA leverages its collective voice of industry leading knowledge to advance the adoption of reusable packaging by clearly demonstrating supply chain efficiencies, environmental benefits, ergonomic improvements and cost advantages to end users in all industries.
The singular and powerful focus of the RPA is to promote the value and expansion of reusable packaging as the preferred solution across supply chains in all industries.
